Cookie consent banner
Give visitors a clear choice.
Offer accept, decline and category controls in a banner that fits your website. Record those choices and use them to decide which optional tools to load.
Set up the banner for your website
Create a service in Polimeo and open its banner settings. Configure the text, appearance, categories and document links. Review your cookie inventory before choosing which categories the site needs.
Copy the script from the Integration screen into the shared layout of your website. The service-specific address loads your saved configuration. The widget uses Shadow DOM to separate its styles from your page.
<script src="https://polimeo.com/widget/YOUR_SERVICE_ID" async></script>Connect the choice to your scripts
The widget records consent and exposes a browser API. It does not automatically intercept every script, pixel or iframe on your website. Your integration must keep optional tools out of the page until their category is allowed.
Read the current choice when the widget is ready and subscribe to later changes. Also provide a way for visitors to reopen the settings. If a tool cannot stop cleanly after withdrawal, implement the vendor's disable behaviour or reload without that tool.
Test the whole journey
Try a fresh browser session. Decline optional categories and confirm that their requests are absent. Then allow a category, verify that its tools start, and test changing the decision again.
Check mobile layouts, keyboard navigation and the links to your published documents. Consent records in Polimeo can help you review choices; they do not prove that every script on your site respected them.
Common questions
Can I use it outside Next.js?
Yes. The widget is a script you can add to an HTML page or a website framework. You still need to integrate consent with your optional scripts.
Does the banner guarantee compliance?
No. It supplies a consent interface and records. Configuration, lawful processing and correct behaviour of your website remain your responsibility.
